Wal-mart/Sam Walton Community Scholarship Program

Description: Any senior who is an employee of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., or child/ dependent of an employee of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Based on financial need, academic record, ACT/SAT test scores, community/ extracurricular involvement and work experience.
Amount: $1,000

Criteria:
Open to 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Must write an essay on the novel, We The Living by Ayn Rand.

UNIVERSITY NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERS Scholarship 2012-2013


Description: Those eligible to apply for a scholarship are high school seniors and freshmen undergraduate students. Scholarships may be used for any academic, vocational or technical program. Students are required by state law to certify that they are eligible to receive a scholarship as a U.S. citizen or a citizen of another country who is lawfully present in the U.S.
The following criteria will be used to select scholarship recipients:
1. Current and previous involvement in University Neighborhood Partners and commitment to the goals of the organization;
2. The way in which this support will help to realize potential for future success; and
3. Statement of financial need.
Award: Three scholarships of up to $3,000 each will be awarded for the 2012-2013 academic year and may be used for educational expenses, e.g. tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies.

Snow College Diversity Scholarship 2012-2013


Criteria: This scholarship is available to full and part-time students. Students are required to be registered for at least 6 credit hours. Additionally, priority consideration will be given to students with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and based on the following geographic indicators: (1) Sanpete/Sevier Counties; (2) Juab, Millard, Piute, Wayne Counties; (3) All other Utah Residents; (4) US Citizens.

Leon & Arline Harman Scholarship Foundation 2012-2013

Criteria: Available for employees working in this establishment and certain food distribution industries. Scholarship is designed to help employees who would otherwise have a difficult time financially attending college. If you have worked at KFC or A&W for at least one year, you may be eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Amount: $4,000/Yr or $2,000/Semester

SLCC Foundation Honors/General Scholarship 2012-2013

Criteria: Students must submit letters of recommendation and a short essay. Honors Scholarship: must have at least a 3.5 GPA; General Scholarship: must have between a 2.5 and 3.49 GPA, financial need can be considered if desired.

The Fountainhead Essay Contest 2012-2013


Description: Must be a junior or senior in high school. Essay must be between 800 and 1,600 words. Essays may be submitted online or by mail. Please check website for essay question. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of The Fountainhead.
